David has worked in transit-ticketing since 2011. He has advised both Visa and Discover / Diners Club International, helping define their transit open-loop strategies and representing them on industry committees in both the UK and Australia.

David was Visa’s Technical lead on during the London Olympics for implementation of open-loop transit in London.

David has lead projects for vendors, having been accountable for the delivery of a new open-loop payment processing system conforming to Visa and Mastercard rules. The system was built for use on over 15,000 buses in the UK.

Having worked with Industry Bodies, Payment Schemes and Vendors providing transit- ticketing solutions, David is uniquely placed to understand the challenges each side faces, and to negotiate, mediate and find pragmatic solutions to issues as they arise.
